She was travelling by train when she thought about him .They weren't related by blood. They met in college, became friends, he fulfilled her need of having a person close but no major restrictions and expectations. He did that flawlessly. That's all she knew. She longed to know what he thought of her. Of course she wasn't the most obedient person around him. They disagreed, she used to lose her demeanour and blabber whatever came to her heart, ultimately apologising for her reaction but not leaving her firm opinions unspoken. Their relationship wasn't public. Just a few friends knew about them and no one spoke a word beyond what was needed. The balance was perfect between them. The disclosures and the privacy, the secrets, held in heart or revealed with tears, the space they gave to each other yet being just a click away when needed.

She thought about the day they first met without considering time-boundaries. She was just out from work-related trouble. He was just back from a trip. They decided to meet. They spent good time talking about each and everything they had in their minds- career confusions , relationship and family life discussions, things they did what they didn't want to do and what missed out what they were desperate for. It was the first time they met after chatting everyday for almost 2 years now. They did see each other in college (they studied from the same place) but never really got time to get out of the worldly chaos to do what they appreciated inside their hearts.

As she was travelling with her family, she had the luxury to disconnect herself from the happenings around her and think in solitude. There was no network. She had no option to text him. Just the thoughts kept her in a rather happy company.

Escaping, but from whom?

It's a quite place which I always claimed will make me most productive.  And now that I am here, I occasionally get lost in my thoughts, which is basically about all the issues I am surrounded with. While at home,  I was constantly in search of emptiness, a room where no one ones what am I doing, judge whether what I am doing would actully help me make my future better, to validate the feelings I express. I used to just sleep or try to study in a room locked from inside where most of the time was spent crying till I am too exhausted to do nothing more than needed, sorting what went wrong and hiding from everyone around. I have been there before and after attempts of moving on, the things are back again , right in front of me. Everytime it happens, it leave a hollowness inside which doesn't really fills up. It gets deeper, progressively. I have been shrinking out socially and hasn't been a serious bother since the ones I have to keep with me, are with me.  The previous tim...
I have the same sequence of thoughts. I think about work, what is it taking out of me and where will it take me, and during the process, I'll either end up scrolling or sleeping, expressing my mental physical tiredness. I don't know how my friends are managing this internship and taking out consistent time to study and prepare for the competitive exams and with their instagram stories revealing that they are not missing out on fun! And, about the internship- I try to finish the tasks I have been given; I try to do a little more, learn a little more, try something beyond the regular stuff till the time I am tired. I try imagining where exactly, out of the places I have been posted, would I like to be working. but till now, I have not been able to reach to a conclusion. Give me a few free hours and I will either sleep or read novels. Recently the latest books I have read are- The Bastard of Istanbul , The –Perfect– Marriage and right now, its Girls Burn Brighter - all these nove...

The Abundant Room Upstairs, No One is Allowed to enter! #1

There is an old brown dusty chair that sits in the abandoned room upstairs. I didn’t figure out who does it belongs to yet we, the family who resides here on rental basis, are forbidden for using it. Mamma says that we must not enter the room, at any cost. Yet, I trespassed this boundary yesterday, when my dearest cat went upstairs, like she usually does. I didn’t ponder upon this fact as Cookie has her favorite place to sleep upstairs. But upon her no appearing back even after opening up of its favorite food (cats are very strong at detecting smell), a doubt arose. I waited for a few more minutes and when my expectations failed too, I decided to go upstairs and check. The forbidden room was at left, so I went forward and checked the room on the right side. “Cookie” I called out. No response. I called out again, twice, yet the result was just as the first time, that is no response again. I had the bowl of cat food in my hand, whose presence would have been hard to go unnoticed, given...
