Yesterday was a day of unexpected rains, not just drizzle but pouring of rain drop that sting at your eyes while you drive.
I was at home yesterday, in the early afternoon and the only thing that kept bothering me was the question, whether or not I should travel 7 km for 1 hour lecture that was to be held at 4. majority of the people would not have care to attend but what mattered to me was that the lecture was by a professor who was one of the finest I have met so far. I decided to go, not just for the sake of the lecture, but also for the fact that I was expecting a meeting for a event we were planning to organize. So, both the tasks were important and at this situation, driving was not an issue. I was already being guilty of non-productive the whole day.
So, I got ready and drove off to the college. I reached on time and things were happening as planned. The whether was a bit cold with breezy and I doubted if that would lead to rain. Most probably not. It hasn't rained in the past months and the season of rains were gone, ( as far as I remember). Its, October already!
As the lecture progressed, we were able to hear the rain drop faling outside. It was a light one. Nothing to wory about.
We got free at 5:30 PM and the meeting, being scheduled at 6pm, I had a good half an hour of break. It took the longer path to reach to the parking and get my scooty and then, I recieved a call that, I knew, will be the full of professional talks which only involves not much of mental exhaustion, It made the whole walk a bit easier to survive. While talking, I had already reached to my scooty.
Standing near my scooty and talking on the phone, my eyes were fixed on the ground.
I cam see tiny rain drops come and go, disappear as soon as they appear. First a drop will form a circle on the ground giving that area a darker shade and the lighter shade reappears when it vaporizes , after absorbing the heat from the ground.
The call ended and realizing that the rain is picking up its pace, I had to rush down to the college hostel, the place the all team members had to meet. Rain grew harder in no time.
I met one of my friend outside the hostel and we both ran being very careful not to slip and hurt your self, in addition to make a fool of your self.
We reached inside and she ordered a tea for herself and a coffee for me. Visiting the place for the first time, I knew nothing about its normal-day functioning. I left all the decisions on her.
It felt like a bliss to have a ready-made hot coffee unexpectedly when you have just gone though a pouring curtain! We waited for a while and when the time was last the number we all decided to be together on, me and my friend began calling each one of then to know what's the status. Ofcourse, all this happened while I was enjoying my coffee. A hot and strong coffee.
After a few calls, we both realized no one plans to come this way today. We aborted the plan. The next challenge was to reach the home when it's raining hard and I had no protection against that.
I had to get going.
No other option.
I grabbed on the keys and turned the scooty on,which happened in 3rd attempt.
Atlast it happened!
I began and not even 2 minutes of driving, my specks were all blurry with the rain droplets on them. Taking advantage of a longer red light, I took off my glasses and kept them at a place safer for them. I felt the vision was now better.
My clothes were all soaked and I felt the breeze cold and the rain drops stinging on the skin.
All I was able to see were the lights from the vehicles around, which seemed like colorful soft cotton balls which seemed like swaying in the dark background.
That's where it all started !
Blurry and dreamy Vision.
Feeling unreal with rain and breeze .
The roads having darker and shinier state, reflecting the lights from the running sources above them.
It felt Dream like !
It was all beautiful , just like the coverpage of one of your favourite novels.
It was a great feeling to have experienced this.
Has it ever happened to you that a scene, which you might have imagined while reading a fiction seemed true in any circumstance of real life ?
