The Strange Situation.

"Mommy, who lives in the big house adjacent to the play ground?"

"I don't know in much detail,  but there lives a man, all by himself."

"Have you ever seen him, met him ? What kindof person he is? Is he a studious man? "

Mommy gave me a questioned look. It was an indication that I have to reveal the details myself. I began.

"Today, where we were playing at the playground, one of my friends hit the ball so hard that it went in that big mansion and got inside the room, crashing down the window."

"So, you're you worried that you might not get the ball back? Will he be forgiving  enough not t o punish you kids  for breaking his window's glass ?"

I gulped down. I hadn't even revealed the whole case when my Mommy started making assumptions which were no problem by any means, when looked from my point of view.

Cutting what she was about to say, I said

" I am worried as, to get the ball from inside, we broke the lock of his door and got into....  " I tried off. She understood what was coming next.

Her expressions were understandable. She was shocked. Maybe, very  shocked . She might have never thought if we were that courageous to break through in a person's place, the possession of  the person we didn't have a clue about. How can I make her understand that my friends to whom the ball belonged , couldn't have entered his own home without the ball. Could I not break through an empty house to save my dear friend to become homeless himself. We had no other option. I reasoned myself, thinking it to be the most logical reason and it's okay if it isn't. I am just a kid at learning stage!

She wanted to say something but she didn't . She waited for me to go on.

"Would he be angry ?" I asked . She was as clueless as I was. She just shrugged. Concluding that neither she nor I was having anything to say, she asked why did I call him studious?

"When we broke through his door and were looking for the ball, there were so many papers strewn in one of the corner."

"What did the papers have?" She sounded curious.

"I didn't understand the content it had on it. The only thing I knew was they were all stamped with REJECTED  written on them. It looked like an angry messege, the one my papers have when I fail my exams."

"Were the papers torn in pieces? Maybe that would have meant that they have been discarded."

I nodded in a No.  "What could that mean."  I said in lowest voice possible.

She didn't react.

I didn't know how to proceed  .

Let's continue this later someday.

Feedbacks are appreciated.

Thank you.

ANU.

The Abundant Room Upstairs, No One is Allowed to enter! #1

There is an old brown dusty chair that sits in the abandoned room upstairs. I didn’t figure out who does it belongs to yet we, the family who resides here on rental basis, are forbidden for using it. Mamma says that we must not enter the room, at any cost. Yet, I trespassed this boundary yesterday, when my dearest cat went upstairs, like she usually does. I didn’t ponder upon this fact as Cookie has her favorite place to sleep upstairs. But upon her no appearing back even after opening up of its favorite food (cats are very strong at detecting smell), a doubt arose. I waited for a few more minutes and when my expectations failed too, I decided to go upstairs and check. The forbidden room was at left, so I went forward and checked the room on the right side. “Cookie” I called out. No response. I called out again, twice, yet the result was just as the first time, that is no response again. I had the bowl of cat food in my hand, whose presence would have been hard to go unnoticed, given...

Escaping, but from whom?

It's a quite place which I always claimed will make me most productive.  And now that I am here, I occasionally get lost in my thoughts, which is basically about all the issues I am surrounded with. While at home,  I was constantly in search of emptiness, a room where no one ones what am I doing, judge whether what I am doing would actully help me make my future better, to validate the feelings I express. I used to just sleep or try to study in a room locked from inside where most of the time was spent crying till I am too exhausted to do nothing more than needed, sorting what went wrong and hiding from everyone around. I have been there before and after attempts of moving on, the things are back again , right in front of me. Everytime it happens, it leave a hollowness inside which doesn't really fills up. It gets deeper, progressively. I have been shrinking out socially and hasn't been a serious bother since the ones I have to keep with me, are with me.  The previous tim...
I have the same sequence of thoughts. I think about work, what is it taking out of me and where will it take me, and during the process, I'll either end up scrolling or sleeping, expressing my mental physical tiredness. I don't know how my friends are managing this internship and taking out consistent time to study and prepare for the competitive exams and with their instagram stories revealing that they are not missing out on fun! And, about the internship- I try to finish the tasks I have been given; I try to do a little more, learn a little more, try something beyond the regular stuff till the time I am tired. I try imagining where exactly, out of the places I have been posted, would I like to be working. but till now, I have not been able to reach to a conclusion. Give me a few free hours and I will either sleep or read novels. Recently the latest books I have read are- The Bastard of Istanbul , The –Perfect– Marriage and right now, its Girls Burn Brighter - all these nove...
