Book review: Cant Quarantine Our Love ( JustMyThoughts)

 CAN'T QUARANTINE OUR LOVE

         _ By Sudeep Nagarkar

Can't quarantine Our Love is a sweet and emotional novel which  traces the budding of love between Avni and Sidhart, the two main protagonists of the story. The story happens to take place in the 4 year of Engineering college which they attend. Well,  the whole thing wasnt easy and it is never that easy to accomplish all the dreams , be it in the professional life or personal life. Nevertheless, both Avni and Sidharth leave no stone unturned to support each other in the time of need.

The novel had been penned down by Sudeep Nagarkar and this gives the novel the Indian touch which, I personally connect very well to. There are always little lifestyle things we find ourselves familiar with and that makes me more glued to the story. I mean it isn't fun unless you have to sneak out from the whole world to accomplish your little celebration mission.

Talking about the characters,

We have Avni, the studious and focused girl who is very close to her family and believes in perfection. She do not have great notions of Love initially, but we do see her transform to a girl who is free to pursue her choices. Avni's parents have fun-loving people who want their daught to be carefree,  not-stressed due to academics and if yes, Date.! Also, Avni is very close to her Nani who was  eventually taken away from her

Next we have Sidhart Shah, who is shifted to Mumbai from Surat and is determined to have good grades and excel. He lives with his grandfather, his Nana and his mother. Having struggled and sacrificed a lot , Sidharth's mother want him to study and be focused, and not give into the wilderness of the world.

We have Bani and Sonal who are all classmates of Avni and Sidharth and they establish a good friendship bond over the college years. They have a major role in helping Avni and Sidharth to be there for each other.

There are a few incidents in the novel which makes your heart melt. I too, wished if we can experience these in our lifetimes. Some of them included the visit to Happy Club, having careless time and fun with friends ( even if that demands you to lie to parents to go to Goa trip instead of an Educational venture).

The ending  10 pages are heart wrenching. When I was at the page from where 10 were left the finish the story , I thought why go forward when the whole story has gone good , happy and it's going to end in a cheerful way. And the next page, we find-

"the fate had other plans for them "

and then we are again gripped back to the story. The end is heart breaking but what's more heart breaking than forever separation of 2 lives which were once intertwined unseprably. Things have their own fate and all we can do, is to extract the full essence of moments when you are with the people whom you love. It's wreaking to be away from the people who are the Best part of your life so yep, I concluded by saying Love the fullest to the people when you live in the moment with them.

The story was sweet, so naturally and connectable Indian with an easy reading style so yep, you may grab it if you are a beginner or prefer a book that could be finished in just 1 day.  Also, it could be grabbed by anyone who is wanting a sweet coffee- table read which is emotional   entertaining and touch you in its own simple way.

Last but not the least, the story has nothing to do with Covid-19 and people being Quarantine .so  just in case you wanted to know.

Thank you .

ANU.

Escaping, but from whom?

It's a quite place which I always claimed will make me most productive.  And now that I am here, I occasionally get lost in my thoughts, which is basically about all the issues I am surrounded with. While at home,  I was constantly in search of emptiness, a room where no one ones what am I doing, judge whether what I am doing would actully help me make my future better, to validate the feelings I express. I used to just sleep or try to study in a room locked from inside where most of the time was spent crying till I am too exhausted to do nothing more than needed, sorting what went wrong and hiding from everyone around. I have been there before and after attempts of moving on, the things are back again , right in front of me. Everytime it happens, it leave a hollowness inside which doesn't really fills up. It gets deeper, progressively. I have been shrinking out socially and hasn't been a serious bother since the ones I have to keep with me, are with me.  The previous tim...

The Abundant Room Upstairs, No One is Allowed to enter! #1

There is an old brown dusty chair that sits in the abandoned room upstairs. I didn’t figure out who does it belongs to yet we, the family who resides here on rental basis, are forbidden for using it. Mamma says that we must not enter the room, at any cost. Yet, I trespassed this boundary yesterday, when my dearest cat went upstairs, like she usually does. I didn’t ponder upon this fact as Cookie has her favorite place to sleep upstairs. But upon her no appearing back even after opening up of its favorite food (cats are very strong at detecting smell), a doubt arose. I waited for a few more minutes and when my expectations failed too, I decided to go upstairs and check. The forbidden room was at left, so I went forward and checked the room on the right side. “Cookie” I called out. No response. I called out again, twice, yet the result was just as the first time, that is no response again. I had the bowl of cat food in my hand, whose presence would have been hard to go unnoticed, given...
I can stare at the sky and think about literally everything that’s there, be it connecting the dots of my past happenings that got me to the stage I am. While thinking about it, I feel as if I am narrating my favorite experiences to my long-gone friend. I jump from one experience to another, losing the chain of the story and eventually getting back from where I started. I think about the most practical things I can see in my future and what I’ll need to do for it. At times, I land up making alternate possibilities of how things might have turned out if I had made choices a little different from what I actually did. Sometimes, when I don’t want to think about anything in particular, I get my earphones and enjoy the music and the peace in me with the quiet of the night. Without anything to listen, my head will always be filled with something or the other. So yeah, that works sometimes. I see aeroplanes occasionally. They lit me up. Memories. Dreams. Possibilities. In these da...
